Protect your one-time codes

When you receive money or pay a request, we verify your phone number with a one-time code. Never share it.

A code you didn't request means someone is trying to act as you right now. Don't share it, and check your accounts. See Phone verification and one-time codes.

Be careful with links

Only open Moov Money links that start with https://moov.money/. Press and hold a link on your phone to preview the full address before you tap it. See How to tell a real Moov Money link.

Only transact with people you trust

Send, request, and accept money only with people you know. Treat it like cash: once a payment is claimed or a request is paid, it can't be reversed. That's what makes it fast, and it's also why the rule matters.

Know what your contact settings do

Contact syncing is a security feature as much as a convenience. It's what lets the app show a real name instead of a number, flag when a name doesn't match the account, and tell you whether you and the other person actually know each other. See How contact syncing works

Watch for the things that don't look like attacks

• A friend's number texting from a new number.

• A request that arrives right after a call about your account.

• Someone asking you to move the conversation to another app.

• Any instruction to keep it quiet.

Each of these is cheap for a scammer and hard to notice in the moment. Naming them in advance is most of the defense.
