Paying or declining a request
When someone requests money from you, you'll get a link that opens their request. You decide what happens next. Nothing is charged unless you choose to pay.
What you'll see
Opening the request shows you:
Who's asking by name.
How much they're asking for.
What it's for, in a short note they wrote.
To pay a request
Open the request and confirm the amount and the note look right.
Verify your phone number (or sign in with your passkey).
Pay with a US-issued Visa or Mastercard debit or reloadable prepaid card.
To decline a request
Choose Decline on the request. The person who sent it will see that it was declined and nothing is charged. You don't owe anyone an explanation for declining, and declining is always the right move when a request looks suspicious.
Before you pay, stop and check
Were you expecting this request? A request you didn't discuss with the other person is worth a phone call or a text message before you pay.
Does the name match the person you think you're paying?
Does the note describe something real, or is it pressuring you to hurry?
Treat a request like cash. Once you pay it, the money can't be reversed.
Good to know
A request expires on its own after 10 days if you do nothing.
If you don't want to hear from someone again, you can block them. See How to block or unblock someone.
Moov will never send you a request to verify, unlock, or release money you are owed. See Things Moov will never ask you to do
